Tips To Avoid GERD

(Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease)
  • Lose weight.
  • Avoid foods known to cause reflux
        --Fatty foods
        --Spicy foods
        --Acidic foods, like tomatoes and citrus
        --Mint
        --Chocolate
        --Onions
        --Coffee or any caffeinated beverage
        --Carbonated beverages
  • Eat smaller meals
  • Don't lie down after eating. 
  • Elevate your bed
  • Review your medications
  • Quit smoking
  • Cut back on alcohol
  • Wear loose-fitting clothes
  • Try a gluten-free diet
