- Add a pinch of cinnamon powder to 2-3 tbsp of castor oil and heat it. When the oil is lukewarm, massage over affected joints.
- Local application of garlic paste or clove oil on the affected areas will give some relief from pain.
- A few Tulsi leaves or Guduchi leaves can be chewed daily. It reduces the fever and increases immunity.
- Consume 2 tsp of papaya leaves juice once daily.
Dos and Don’ts
- Avoid spicy, deep fried and heavy food.
- Avoid cabbage, cauliflower, potato, tamarind and curds.
- Include bitter vegetables like snake gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, etc., in your diet.
- Minimize the intake of milk and its products.
- Eat light and easily digestible food.
- Drink sufficient warm water.
Prevention of Chikungunya
- Use mosquito repellents at home.
- Wear clothes that cover you fully to avoid mosquito bites.
- Clear stagnant water and other mosquito breeding places in your surroundings.
- Use mosquito nets.
